5: ADD ALL DISCOUNTED FUTURE PAYMENTS

Since the present value of each payment is computed separately the present
value of all future payments is the sum of the individual discounted payments.

The total present value would be the accumulation of all these amounts from the
DOC until the person is 100+ years old. The probability of collecting anything in
the last few years nearing the age 100 is very small. This is written as:

PV = p1Payment1 + p2Payment2 + p3Payment3 + …+ pnPaymentn

This gives the present value of all payments after the DOC. If there were any
amounts due before the DOC that amount is added to the present value to get
the total value of all payments due.
