QuickLaw Security

QuickLaw uses MS Access Jet security to lock all of the Tables, VB code, Macros, and Queries so that you cannot change the way the program works. That is why you can’t use open up the database with Access and see how it works.

Since we no longer support the program we are publishing the codes needed to bypass the security.

QLOwner – the owner of QuickLaw

Only a user with the name QLOwner and an I.D. of AXXX1-QL/95 can access the inner workings of QuickLaw, including turning off all security.

Password:

QuickLaw comes with a System.MDA file that contains all of the QuickLaw users and groups, including QLOwner. To login as QLOwner on your system you have to type in the password: 88A-LZP*_17U9[

That is a dash "-" after the A, an asterisk "*" after the P, an underline "_" after the asterisk, and a right square bracket "[" at the end.

Other versions of Access:

If you are not using Access version 2 and want to import, export, or attach to the data files you will need to create the QLOwner user in your MS Access workgroup file using the Security menu item.

When you add QLOwner to Access you must give it the I.D. of AXXX1-QL/95 for it to work. You don’t need to give it a password. We have done this lots of time and we know that it works. If you have trouble you probably didn't type in the user ID correctly when you created QLOwner.

Other Users and Groups

Read the manual for the Users module for a complete explanation of the default users and groups they can belong to.

QuickLaw can be setup so that some users can Add, Read, Edit, Delete or do any combination of the above to the data files based on the Group they belong to.
