FileFix doesn't work on OLEOpen.MDB

We have found that on some systems the FileFix program in QuickLaw does not actually Repair and Compact the data files. So, we recommend that you Repair/Compact the files directly with MS Access through the command line.

The following line must be executed from the Start/Run program in Windows. However, we cannot be sure where all the files are located on your particular system, so if you changed any of the defaults of the QuickLaw installation be sure to substitute your file paths in the lines below. Click the Start button, then "Run" and type or paste the following line in and run it. Be sure to get all of the line if your browser wraps it into two or more lines:

To Repair:

C:\QuickLaw\MSARN200   C:\QLData\OLEOpen.MDB    /INI QuickLaw.INI   /User User1    /Repair   C:\QLData\OLEOpen.MDB

The command may ask if you want to Replace the file... answer "Yes".

To Compact:

Then do the same line again but substitute “/Repair” with “/Compact” as follows:

C:\QuickLaw\MSARN200   C:\QLData\OLEOpen.MDB    /INI QuickLaw.INI   /User User1    /Compact   C:\QLData\OLEOpen.MDB

Again, answer “yes” to the “Replace?” question.

When done, try QuickLaw again and see if everything is working.
